I kinda found this place while trying to find an old site I used to frequent called Sportster.org. Things are pretty sparse over there these days.
I am a longtime Sportster fan and have 2 Sportsters, a 2000 883 standard, and a 2001 1200C, and I love them both. I am also an avid off road rider and currently have a Suzuki DR350SE and have had a KLR650, a Honda XR600R, and another DR350SE. Ilike to take the DS bikes with me when I go camping so I can do some off road/back road riding. Been to Sturgis, Laughlin, and Hollister (when it was still going on).
I had back surgery in 2008 and thought that my riding days were over, so I sold all my bikes except for the Sportsters, and planned to hang it up. Time passed and I healed up pretty well and just got another DR350, so I am officially back in the saddle after a 2+ year layoff.
I just got the Sportsters back into running shape and all cleaned up, and decided that I needed to find a place to come to so I could refresh my memory on all the things that I had forgotten about the Sportys. I gotta dig into the 1200 and try to get to the bottom of a cough that she has. So here I am, great looking site, I look forward to picking your brains as I start to get the bikes back onto the road.
