Hydraulic primary tensioner

I was reading an old thread about Southern Oregon Hot Bikes hydraulic primary chain tensioners. They sound great, has anyone used one of these for extended time and mileage?

Word is the XL ones suck.

Really it's not much effort to manually adjust anyway.
