I stepped on the scale today and saw that I am now down to 190lbs! down from a 210 max weight. I am fitting into pants that use to be to small for me, and generally feeling better.
I also registered for the Vermont City Marathon today, and think that with my current running/training schedule I will be ready come race day!
I have also stopped using as many of the weight machines at the gym and started using more free weights, and am noticing the difference that makes. My heart rate never really went up when I was pressing 300+lbs on the squat machine (I know that I wasn't doing a true 300lbs) but after 15 reps with 70lbs on the squat bar my heart is moving, and I can feel that I am engaging many more muscles and have a larger range of motion.
I remember feeling like I was getting no where, stepping on the scale every couple days and not seeing it move when I started working out, so I haven't bothered getting on one for a while now, and the other day I realized that I had half hazardly put on a pair of pants that I had grown out of, so I went to the scale saw that I was 20lbs lighter then I was the last time I was on it.
