When she went to check the mail, she had a very stunned look on her face... I thought there was a bat in the mailbox, but... it was worse than that. IT WAS A GNOME. Carol simply said "To see one is to gnome..."

Once over her shock, she pretended to admonish WilliG for not calling to announce his arrival... we knew he was en route, but weren't sure when he would show up. Probably spent some time with a flight attendent or two...

He didn't know I had invited some friends - a local band, though Dwardy couldn't make it - but they are a small group that I thought he might enjoy... though after awhile, It's A Small World gets really tedious!!!

After the welcome, WilliG wanted to see the bike. After all, he is here for a Forum ride. So we checked out the Shark Bike:

WilliG made some comment about V-Twins... not a very strong endorsement (he has a foul mouth!). So I showed him MY V-Twin. He does have to work for his stay, so we managed a little yard time.

Finally, we settled down to get to know each other. Son of a bitch can really throw 'em down. Damn band was out of it early... But, all-in-all, a good first day in Michigan. More to come...

Unfortunately not. He will just be returning from London, Ontario, and will be headed to Alabama (Go 'Bama! Roll Tide!) and the National HOG rally in Tennessee.

Maybe we can get him back up here next year. Or even at Baldwin for the blessing of the bikes...

WilliG (the Forum Gnome) is one of Bert's progeny that is making a world tour, of sorts. He has visited castles in Germany, barmaids along the Rhine, and has led a life of leisure, travelling with Bert. Bert decided to allow WilliG to travel and spend some time with foreign members, in essence to provide him a liberal education in different biker cultures.

He is now in Michigan, soon to travel to Canada, and thence to other places including the deep south, Pacific NW, Californica, and to the land of Oz. The first thread in this Forum chronicled his first trip and mentioned his availability for travel.

This is the story as we would like it related.

As WilliG's first "guardian" in the states, i.e. in loco parentis, I will need to see proof of insurance and a "Rider's Medical Liability" addendum prior to shipping. Furthermore I believe a full roll cage (one can be salvaged from an old shopping cart; got kinda a chromed look to it, doncha think?!) and 4-point bungee restraint will probably be mandatory along with a fully-padded, tall sissy bar...
