Just wanted to take the opportunity to say hi to everyone here! I just bought a used 2001 1200 XLH that I want to make into a bobber. I do not have much knowledge about Sportsters because I have spent most of my time on Softails. I bought the Sportster to be my around town bike, and the seam like they can be a lot of fun. For now I just want to lower the bike and put a springer front end on, cut the rear fender, pipes, and a spring solo seat.

Hi Hammer, welcome to the forum from Alaska. Glad to have you here with us. :)
Most the mods sound good, but not sure why you would want to cut the pipes or solo seat?:doh ;)

Hi Hammer
Welcome from downunder.
Good luck with your bobber project. There is a Chopper & Bobber Talk Forum on the site which has plenty of good threads and pics on bobbers.
