Hi all.

Well, as you know I am always trying somethin' differnt(Redneck dictonary) with my 2003 custon. I like to have it more a Cafe style in the front, but I hate windscreens, there to big and bulky. :doh
I have ben looking for a small screen that would be like a cafe bubble type, but the ones I find either won't work on a custom, require a new headlight or are painted, and that would hide the chrome. :shhhh
I toyed with the Idea of building one, but I have not had the time to start a project like that, so on the back burnner it went. :shhhh
After work today, a swung by Latus Harley's used salvage shop(It a swap meet every day) and was looking around, when I spotted this one. It's small, and fits right, and it's Harley part? Yes, it is a windscreen for a V-rod. :tour
Picked it up and the swap for a cluch cover and a set of Kubiaki Mirrors.
Got it home, I had to modifie the front mount base, to match the cruve of the Headlight rim, but that was it.
I mounted it to the rim because If I didn't like it, all I need get is a new headlight rim instead of a housing.
So, how do it work? Pretty good, it keeps the wind off your chest, and the sheer hits me about the top of the helmet at 70. My arms are in the wind, but that's good, and the front end gets a little bit of push down from it.
And top it off, I don't think it looks to bad....what do you think???

And now for something completely different....a dancing Banana..... :banadanc

That's pretty innovative. It looks a lot better than I was imagining it would when I was reading the story. Nicely done Jeff.

I like it, too! I think it looks better than the little shorties that you see around...not the HD shorty, but the real little aftermarket ones...great idea, too! Latus is supposed to have the '06's on the showroom this weekend...did you see any while you were there?

Nice look, but you must lay down at speed...

That thing would throw all kids of wind in my face...

Cafe isn't my style, but kudos to you for exploring! :)

Not too shabby dude!......hey where is Latus's swap meet building at now?
I heard they moved it from the old local on Sandy.
I need to stop by and see if I can pick up a set of footboards for my glide :D

I think it looks pretty bitchin' Jeff.

I'm not a fan of windshields, but I like that one.

No '06's at Latus, but Paradice has some of the BT's out, and Columbia had Deep Blue Dyna Sportbob, Very nice bike.

There on Marine Drive, just east of I-5 up in the delta park area. It's across the freeway from the Expo center, by the motorcycle salvage. There is the same building.

Not too bad. Functional and not ugly. I too hate the big bulky wind shields. Wind shields are for cagers.

No Need, I asked what you think, and I would rather hear the truth.

Thank you for your honesty.

I think it looks good! Hard to believe it blocks as much wind as you say, but I'll take your word for it.

Looks good Jeffy. I think it's a nice addition if it's the route your going. Keep up the good work.

Oakies, Moker.

Thank you for being honest, the Pictures I have posted of it really don't show how good it does look, well At least to me.

That's all that matters.
If you like it then there's no issues.

If it was mine, I'd want to hide that cluster of gauges you got sitting up pretty high (for my taste) therefore, I would probably paint the whole thing BLACK and hide the gauges. Don't get me wrong, the gauges are nice yet look out-of-place IMHO.

Very creative, as long as you like it. Its shocking how well small shields can work on motorcycles.
