I hear grumbles about Waugh's & why people don't go there but here is a small sample of the service I get there.

I went for a roadtrip to Waugh's yesterday for some chrome, Hellrazur & Tribe92z joined me. They were open on Sunday for a special event and sent me a postcard with a coupon on it for $15 off any parts or clothes purchase over $100. So I buy my stuff and after the days ride I get home & unpack, when I check my purchase reciept the discount wasn't taken out.

So I ride back to Waugh's today, (as usual, Don Waugh, the owner, is sitting by the front door smoking his pipe and welcoming everyone in to the store) to find out if I can get my discount. I go to the custom parts counter and show the sales person my reciept and tell him my story.

Without a blink the sales person credits me for the $15 discount I was supposed to get. He even aplolgized for my having to wait.

This is not the first time I have gotten excellent service from Waugh's, it's little things like this that makes a dealer great.

When I was getting ready to buy my bike, I went to two nearby dealers for price quotes, with a list of extras I wanted on the bike when it was ready to be picked up- Waughs being one of them. They treated me very professionally, from start to finish. The other dealer treated me like I fell off of the turnip truck the day before. Needless to say, I bought mine from Don & Palmer, and have been treated very well every time I go by the store for anything. I would definitely buy another bike from them :banana

It's kinda sad when that type of service is the exception to the norm. It should be expected from all the dealers.

I live about 10 miles from another HD shop that consistantly treated me like crap, but about a year ago went to Waugh's in Orange VA (60 miles away) and now do most of my major purchases through them. Alway's curtious and helpful and always willing to simply sit around and BS about bikes.

I feel exceptionally lucky...

I mainly deal with Stan's HD in Batavia....they have EVERYTHING I need...I get to BS a lot more and hang out in the shop at Wyoming County HD...I learn stuff from the old guys, and get stupid tiny parts that I need..., and American HD in Buffalo has always been very good to me as well...they did a tire change for me once WHILE I WAITED....how cool is that?

3 Dealers, within 45 minutes.....2 of those within 20 minutes...

I always like to hear about good dealerships, because I think many get a bum rap, and others shouldn't even BE in business.....but I believe they are actually the minority...I think MOST dealerships are actually cool places....

Yet, each of the three I frequent have their own specialties...If there was only ONE of 'em, I'd be disappointed in ANY of them at SOME point.

Wyoming County HD is mostly a wrench shop...not much Bling or even parts, on-hand..

Stan's HD has a lot of inventory, and really nice people...but is a bit further...

American HD has more of a "new and used bike dealership" about it, and a pretty good inventory of parts...but they're almost an hour away....the parts guys are cool, but not much talking goin on...y'know?
