Reading through a bunch of conversion posts, seems like the Nallin 1250 conversion is the way a lot of you are going. Cash not being an option, that is the way I would go; however, as cash is tight and there is a great machine shop in my neck of the woods that specializes in Harley engine upgrades, I was contemplating purchasing Nallin 3.563 hurricane pistons and having my existing 883 jugs bored out to match these pistons. Is it possible to take the stock jugs on a 04' 883 and have them bored out 1250cc to fit the Nallin pistons, or am I asking for trouble? Could I use this arrangement with stock heads and cams, or would I need further work done besides the rejet? What size jets would I use assuming stock heads, cams, V&H straight shots?

If cash is tight why not just get your jugs bored out to take dished top conversion pistons. If you use non dished pistons you will need to get the combustion chambers re-shaped.

1200 is as big as you can go with the stock jugs. Check Nallin's site, but I think you might also need to split and bore the cases to goto the 1250cc.
