changed
what year ? was it 79 ?
it moved 1/16th" out ?

Yes, '79.
Transmission Sprocket, 21T:
Early 79 - 35205-52A
Late 79 - 35205-79

Yes, it moved out in 79-up, .055" I believe.

my depth mic says .062
I know .007 aint much , just want to be sure .

geez i thought it was .090 on sprk.
with -.020 at chuch gear thrust wash. .232 vs .212
for a total of . 070
if either sprkt you have is aftermarkt, you cant trust that any thing is correct on them.
and the real way to check is from the 6 lands at rear of mainshft sprk splines, where the sprk buts to when nut is tite, to sprk centerline.

Yes if you had a nice flat washer that fit into the seal bore against the 6 splines (like DICK mentioned)& sat proud of the inner shoulder, you could just measure down to the sprocket face to get an exact comparison sprocket to sprocket.
