my helmet seems to fit pretty good.
It is nice and snug, but not tight.
It will sit on my head and I have to push it down to get it on. Once on if I move it back and forth it moves my skull,.
The problem is that when I get up to around 60, 70 or so it starts to lift off.
I am afraid that the wind is going to blow it off the top of my head and act like a parachute and pull me off the bike.'
I have to drive with my head down, looking up through the top of my glasses.
Anyone else feel like this?
Maybe I should tigthten up the strap, but I don't like feeling choked.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Your chin strap is not tight enough, if you are leaving slack in the strap then there is room for the helmet to move.
just tighten it enough to snug up the slack, you will get used to it after a few minutes.

The straps should always be tight. A loose helmet is a vulnerability in the event of a crash.
What type/style is it?

You do not have a helmet law in NH, I would not even use the chinstrap and let it blow off, and then you will not need to worry about it anymore.

Besides the last post, I think the suggestions so far are good.
Yes, it does feel like the helmet could come off. Because the bottom of the helmet is open the wind/air can get in underneath and start to lift the helmet. Cinch down the chinstrap a bit more and you should have it. It will never be perfect but should make a noticeable difference.

I have the same problem with a HJC (top of the line) half helmut in flat black. It's a X-large. I tried on the large at the Stealer ant it was to small. So I ordered the XL on line for $96. Now I'm unhappy with it. It moves around a bit no matter how tight the chin strap is. I have worn this helmut twice, If anyone wants it IM me.

thanks guys
I don't wear the helmet everytime if I am staying in NH.
But I go into Mass everyday for work.
I like the strap loose but I will try it tighter---UGH-toooo tight--choking-cough-cough
ah that's better----willo have to get use to it I guess

My helmet has a small visor on it....I found that without this visor, my helmet (which DOES fit well) will tend to want to pull off, too...
The visor counteracts this, as I wear my helmet cocked a bit forward...the air stream actually pushes the helmet downward...

Have you ever tried a full face? I used to never wear a helmet at all, but I work nights, and coming home at 3 a.m. I am worried about deer hunting. Anyway, I have tried different half helmets, and they always seemed like they were going to blow off. I wear a full face now, and I love it. I find myself wanting to wear it all the time now. I always thought I liked to have the wind in my face, but after wearing a full face, I am less fatigued after a long ride, riding at night I can see better, and getting caught in the rain is much better with a full face.
I know you didn't ask about wearing a full face, just thought I'd give my 3 cents worth :smoke
