View Full Version : New bike finally!
VA Beach biker 6th August 2005, 03:08 Just picked up my new '77 XLCR today. 6700 original miles, and in pretty nice shape. I had a huge shiteating grin on my face the whole way home. I caught a few people at stoplights with a look on their faces like "What IS that thing?" Well worth the pain in the ass of trying to find one.
Preacher 6th August 2005, 03:22 Congrats! Color me jealous... love those XLCRs.
GSB_77_XL 6th August 2005, 03:27 Cool, we want pics. With cafe racers it is either love em or hate em, and I love em

I like those, but the chain guard always seems to look kind of too far rearward.
I noticed it on the one in Lee, NH, but thought it was just that bike.
This bike looks to be in great shape. :tour

DAMN that's cool I love to see older bikes in great shape!!! :clap :clap :clap
VA Beach biker 6th August 2005, 20:17 It's in overall nice shape, never restored, just a well cared for rider. It came with a couple of trophies it's won in some local shows. The first big thing will probably be having the Morris Mag wheels redone somewhere.
Grizzly 6th August 2005, 20:57 As you get her cleaned up, be sure to post more pics. again I LOVE THOSE XLCRs! :leekguit

VA...NICE JOB! Looks almost as good as mine! :) From your pics, everything looks stock! Enjoy it man! I'm posting a pic of mine, below. Let me know here, or via e-mail, if you have any questions or anything about the bike. Just hit about 6600 miles on mine, and had some work done this weekend - rejet carb, intake seals, points. Nice looking bike VA!
jon686 9th August 2005, 16:42 I'm definitely envious. I had a chance to ride one back in the early 90's. A buddy of mine had one that his dad had given him. I thought what the hell was that and swore it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. I didn't think it ran that well, and wondered why in the hell anyone would want one. Funny how times change ones opinion. I hope he still has it, and I hope I can someday own one or at least a decent looking replica. The lottery drawing is Saturday...
edman 10th August 2005, 00:27 Congratulations, looks great and I love it!!!
