Geez............There are better ways of meeting girls!:p:p

Really sorry to see you got banged up.......that's not the way riding is supposed to go. Now you have to focus on the recovery process and the work of getting healthy. Once you get that done, you can figure out what to do about another bike.:):)

Good Luck:clap:)

Ouch!! Get hammered on pain meds then hit on the hot nurse. It'll help pass time and if you act like a jerk nobody will care.

Lesson learned on the bike. Accidents are worse if they cause you to loose faith in yourself and you don't learn from them. Worse on-road spill I ever had was hitting a patch of gravel too. I fared better than you though.

Get well soon and if you happen to cop an innocent feel you can always blame it on the meds.

I gotta give you a ton of credit by understanding what happened. So many riders new & old never claim any responsibility for thier crashes. Hats off to you.

Sorry that you went down, but glad you survived it. Just take it easy, follow the docs' advice and remember that any prolonged contact with the nurse isn't being done for your own perverse pleasure - it's purely for therapeutic reasons. ...at least, that's what you tell her! :D

Update:

No more neck brace, took the shoulder sling off, basicly all that's left is the leg. They said they don't think they will have to cut my shoulder open. My deltiod is what's messed up,so again good thing I'm a pretty big guy!

I talked to the insurance company and they did total my bike, but the frames not bent, motor and tranny are intacked wheels arnt bent...hell the tires didn't even blow! Ill buy the bike back, rebuild it for my old man or might part out what's left not 100% there!

Hopefully since I'm doing better than anyone would of though I'll be out soon :)

Yes last summer sucked a big one! Was basically locked in bed for 3 months then crutches then the pain of physical therapy.

I've been busting ass at the gym (still jobless so what else do I have to do :o ) and I'm still only squatting 250 where before I was doing 400. I'm really thinking about getting another Xl now though!

Hey, Blu!

I didn't see your original post, but I got caught up because you updated the thread recently.

I am glad to hear you are doing well. It sounds like you have had a long, hard recovery. It didn't kill you, so now you are making sure it makes you stronger. Good for you!

I went "Off Road" (hence the XL Forum handle) with less than 2000 miles experience myself. I fractured a vertebra in my spine, but luckily had little other health issues. I certainly didn't have to work as hard as you have - but if you want to bounce some ideas off another rider who went down early in his biking life, PM me.

And not to push you or anything, but I am glad to hear that you are thinking of another XL! :D:D:D
