Well after some great advice (thanks planb) I bought the hat.
All I can say is WOW. The fit is great for my noggin and the quality is superb.
The anti-fog system is a little weird in that there is a small section in the bottom centre of the visor that doesn't 'stick' properly to the visor and allows it to fog up in just one place. I'm sure it's just how I installed it though. The flip down tinted visor is great but takes a little getting used to as there is a little distortion of vision on the bottom edge.

Mine is flat black.. :tour
What I found really amazing is the difference in how hard I have to try and stay on the bike at speed. With other helmets my head would get pushed around by the wind, especially behind trucks but now it hardley moves.
I was considering a removable windshield for the long trips but after riding over 300km last weekend with this helmet i've changed my mind. I used to get a sore neck after a while and felt like the wind against my chest was going to blow me off the bike. Now i've discovered pressure was due to a helmet with bad aerodynamics.
Truely amazing. :banadanc :banadanc :banadanc :banadanc

How much was it. I have a simpson superbandit that looks cool but it is really a sorry helmet. I like the look of that. Sort of alien looking. Can you lift visor with single hand. I had the two hand latch nolan and liked it but that was one feature I did not.

Hey Ralph,
I got it for 3200 pesos which I think is about $300.
The visor (see through bit) can be lifted with one hand but the tag is really small so it's a bit fiddly with gloves.
The whole flip-up bit can also be lifted with one hand now and it seems to have some kind of spring action that helps lift the front. Really nice. I don't struggle with this hat at all.
Flat black with the tinted visor down looks mean as hell too.

Well,
I went the MoCo route and I like it very much............One handed close/open from the Left side.
See the Nose rubber thing......It never fogs. I've even coughed inside and it still don't fog. You can still hear the engine but not the pipes as much and almost all the wind noise is gone.

Jimbo,
Yeah it's a really different feeling (sound) although I tend to hear my pipes more now that the wind noise has gone.

I'm glad you liked your choice, DPT! Helmets are such a personal piece of equipment, but besides giving us potential protection, they're an investment, too...they'll last for years...mine has gone through three bikes already and it's got a long way to go! I do like your color over my silver and white...it DOES have that bad to the bone look! Don't scare the pretty senoritas! Enjoy your new PPE (personal protective equipment)!

Looks really nice! I ride with a full-face during the winter, and am looking for a different one that I have now. I like mine, but it does fog up pretty bad. I like that drop down tinted shield in the Nolin, that's sharp!

I have the Nolan X-1002 and couldn't be happier! Great fit, lots of nice features! The separate tinted visor sure beats sun glasses.

Phil, do you find some vision distortion from the tinted visor or did I just get a bad one?

DPT,
There is no visual distortion with mine. At first I was concerned that the horizontal line of the tinted visor would be distracting, but not so. My view of the tach/speedo is just below the tinted visor which is nice. The ability to flip it up or down as needed is great! I don't use my other full face (HJC) or my HD 3/4 since I got the Nolan.

Well,
I went the MoCo route and I like it very much............and almost all the wind noise is gone.

I have the same helmet (HJC-Symax if you want parts or replacement pads).

At highway speeds I have to use earplugs because the wind noise is so bag it causes my ears to ring even more......

If that darned Caberg or the Norton would fit my head, I'd get one of them. I've heard the Caberg is quiet......

My wife has the Nolan and loves it. But that buckle which I love is really pi****g her off. It can sometimes be a two handed affair. I think the HJC central mounted release button is better for me as well.

I have this hat and I don't like it. The modular part is nice i'll give it that. I don't have to many problems with fog, just if i exhale alot in the early morning. The only beef i have with it is how heavy it is and once I get up to about 60+ mph i feel like a bobble head doll.
