Hi Guys,
Have 2005 Sporty and was out in California for a while with no garage so I had a shop change my primary oil and apparently they tightened the primary inpection cover too tight. I tried the 5/32 allen wrench on the two screws and they ain't budgin at all.
Any ideas.....? I haven't used any power tools on the screws. I should have checked the screws before draining the oil. Now, I can't go riding this weekend unless I can get the cover off somehow. Last time I will have anyone do the work on the bike unless I absolutely have to.
Thanks for any ideas.....

I would try a hand impact driver. The kind you strike with a hammer.

can you get the primary chain inspection cover off, you can stick a funnel in the hole and dump a quart of primary fluid down it.

that would get you riding for the weekend, then later you can get a set of allen sockets and use a ratchet to get them off, make sure the head of the allen socket is in their good or they will strip, apply pressure to te head of the rachet. Good luck

Are they too tight or is it fresh locktight? Apply some heat to said vermin and then try wrenching or Allening or........

X2.. anything will come out with a impact driver, don,t be shy, smack the crap out of it with a hammer. you will brive the bit in and loosen that allen. make sure the impact driver is on the loosen ramp and not the tighten ramp...:banana:laugh:smoke

You say on "the two screws" so I assume you are talking about the chain inspection cover. I say +1 on what Ireeman said, heat them up and smack them with an impact. If you don't have an impact and instead have allen sockets, then after heating, tap on the socket in the bolt with a hammer, that will probably6 break them loose.
Failing at that, if you need to do this fast, then open the derby cover and pour the oil in there. As long as you drain what is in there, then 1 quart is what you need and you don't need to see the level.
Blue locktite on everything when putting back together, and I know you won't overtighten.

Friend of mine who has a much larger tool collection than I do came over with his impact tool and we smacked the screws with that and then took a ratchet to them and got them off. Guess I will just have to start adding a little more to my tool collection for problems such as this.
Thanks again for responding to my issue and offering the advice. Have a great Memorial Day and thanks to all veterans for the sacrifices they made for the sake of our freedoms that we so often take for granted.... Semper Fi!

If you don't have an impact driver handy, a length of straight hex rod can be used as a punch to unload the threads and break the bond between threads. Even a high-grade bolt might work well as a punch if it's the right diameter and not terribly long. A sharp hammer blow usually loosens stubborn screws and bolts enough to be unscrewed with usual small wrenches.
