anyone ever have this happen? Took a cool 40 degree run yesterday morning and about 4 miles into it..the bike started coughing and sputtering. Sounded like one of my terminals was loose. Pulled over and found that my negative terminal lug had detached from the housing. What I ended up doing was using cruise control and held the neg. terminal in place until I got back home. Battery is 3.5 yrs old...it MAY have taken a dump on me in the near future..but maye NOT either. I use a battery tender faithfully.
Anyone ever have this happen to their battery??? I have a 20k a year biker buddy and he has had it happen more than once. :mad:
This battery was purchased at my HD dealer March,2001.

Unusual but not unheard of, especially in high vibration bikes. Lucky you didn't have an acid spill (or flashback!!)
