bike had apes when I got it all the wires were cut that run to the switch housings...all of them... nothing worked. button under the seat to start it, a bobber tank, fl fender, ....etc.
well I fixed all the hand controls relocated the blinker indicators to the console no problem they work fine the high beam indicator is floating in space but it works. the four black wires that connect to the oil and "n" indicator bulb will not light no matter the gear or the key position or if the run switch is on or off...
testing the wires, two of the 4 are hot
reading the schematic tells me the switches are the ground to complete the circuit.
both switches bad at same time?
how do I test the switches?
when I touch the the oil switch with a grounded test light ignition on and engine off it lights?!!
any help would be appreciated.
I am trying to make my "gen" light a neutral light
and my oil light an actual oil light.
I don't understand how just making the wires longer would make any difference.
