Checked the usual set of sites for news and updates last night after getting home late and came across a story on topspeed.com about a special offer from Amex and BMW - You gotta check this out. Maybe I shouldn't be letting you all in on this. Anyhow I called Amex and confirmed. Yes it is true and there are only 6 bikes that will be sold on the 4th.

Still gotta pay the destination charges, taxes, registration, etc.. but still what a deal.

I didn't bother checking the link, but if there are only 6 at that price sounds like a marketing ploy that 100 people are going to respond to.

Good luck...

I figured there will be a 1:10000000000 chance but it won't hurt to try. I'm happy either way. If I end up with one - cool - something else to ride. If I don't - cool also - didn't really want a water cooled supersport anyhow. Aside from this I have discovered I have an attraction to bikes named 1200R. XL1200R, K1200R, R1200R, ZRX1200R.

Well with those odds you might as well just play the lottery ;)

Like Publisher's Clearing House - how to sell more magazine subscriptions. Someone wins, but it's easier to get struck by lightning.

It's a pure numbers game, Kev. They do it every year and if you hit the button at the right time and are one of the first 6 people to do it, the bike gets charged to your AMEX card at the reduced price. If you aren't one of the first 6, nothing happens. I guess if you want one of those bikes, it's worth a try. They also have a $2500 flat screen TV for $700, but I don't know how many of those are available.
