View Full Version : hooowaaa....I lost a race and liked it! A 6.22 1/8th mile!
Narley 16th August 2005, 07:15 Firstly I am still holding onto #1 place but its a narrow margin over 1 other guy and the rest of the feild fell further behind. The class is a 10.2 bracket....well the guy ran 10.195...thats 5 thousandths off the number!!!!! BUT it was a breakout...however I broke out by more and so I lost...why so happy......Holy bird turd did my new edelbrock progressive n20 controller work wonders...
20 % at launch gave me 1.511...1.55 and even an amazing (but untimely) 1.44 60 foot!!
That 1.44 led to a 6.22 1/8th and a 10.07 1/4 with the throttle chopped and me on the brkes trying to not breakout but still stay ahead of a guy I expected to only run a 10.4ish. The guy was havin a very fast run too and so staying ahead of him caused me to break out. Never thought I would break out as My best in competition was a 10.26? till this weekend and I qualified well with a 10.29...then later in the semis that 1.44 60 foot and 6.22 eight with a final of 10.07 in the quarter (was more like a 9.68 run!!!if I wasnt on the brakes) had me losing my first time by being too fast.
Smaller n20 jets go in in the am. Its back to back races this weekend and last. Lots of travel.
GSB_77_XL 16th August 2005, 08:00 damn thats fast. way to go narley!!!

In ET bracket racing if you go quicker than your fastest qualifiying time you "break out" meaning you loose.
Both bikes went too fast! :clap
Narley 16th August 2005, 16:16 Yep both bikes went too fasst for the class they are in ,but I was way too fast and he was only a fraction too fast...thus I lost , but felt damn good goin that fast..
there are more pics in my gallery.
Predator 16th August 2005, 16:21 Awesome. You should have kept it pegged to see what time you can run.
Moker 16th August 2005, 16:47 any chance getting one of the girly's to video tape your races?
GSB_77_XL 16th August 2005, 17:41 any chance getting one of the girly's to video tape your races?
OOh good idea that would kick ass.
Narley 16th August 2005, 19:31 I cant leav eit pinned. I would have looked bad . It would have been a 9.6-9.7 second run......almost a half second too fast for the class....beating the guy by maybe 100 feet!...
You take the 1/8th mile time and times it by 1.55 to get a fairly accurate 1/4 mile time.
Year end...last day...last race...it will be balls to the wall...what I thought might be a 9.9 bike may see a 9.5 second run....,might be my countries fastest XL???

wickedsprint 17th August 2005, 00:41 What was your trap speed in the 1/4 on your 10.07 run? I am guessing low 140s or higher to see mid 9s. That is one strong runnin HD ya got there.

Remebr I said I was hard on the brakes...It was about 105 mph cause I was slowing hard. I will find another slip and check the mph.
wickedsprint 17th August 2005, 02:20 Yeah I'd be super interested to see some un-braked trap speeds, that thing looks like a monster.
Narley 17th August 2005, 07:27 It really pulls...especially the first 60 feet.
wickedsprint 17th August 2005, 16:18 so what kind of trapspeed have you seen so far, or have all of them been braked at the end? I am talking quarter mile.
Narley 17th August 2005, 17:16 The weekend went like this...1st run 10.07 lost power near the finish due to a loose ign wire.
Next ran a 10.29 to qualify well on the 10.2 bracket....rolled off at the end.
Last run was a 10.07 on the 6.22 1/8th...all over the rear brake and chopped the throttle.
wickedsprint 17th August 2005, 17:22 What is your best MPH to date in 1/4? Just very curious because that thing has some wicked quick times.
