I am looking to replace the ham can breather on my 2003 XL1200C. Has anyone here replaced the ham can with a S&S breather or aftermarket breather and added the crackcase breather kit to it?

Yes, my bike has the FORCEWINDER AC with a
polished elbow on it. For that up grade you must get
the CV bracket to help support the carb. Also my
sporty has the horseshoe breather kit made for the
evo motor. The breather has a chrome braided
hose which extends down to lower swingarm
and on the end there is a little round filter on
the very end of it. :yikes

Are you talking about a crankcase breather kit like this breather kit (http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=A9664D19-4051-412E-AE18-F2A0571FBEE1&search=crankcase%20breather%20kit&store=Harley&page=1) I was thinking more in the line of a Dragtron™ II Air Cleaner.

I run a Forcewinder as well, great air cleaner setup. as for crankcase breater I have been through what seems like a ton of them, and they all leak oil somewhere...so I designed my own.

I put on the S&S teardrop AC and breather kit. Looks and works great.

Whatever you do DO NOT VENT THE CRANKCASE INTO THE CARB!!! The oil vapors create deposits in the combustion chamber and exhaust ports. Just run a rubber hose down under the engine.

Yes I am going to put a horse shoe tube over the carb and run a hose downinto a breather filter.
