Hey Guys i'm new here and I'm going to build an LSR bike next year. Shootin for next year but it is unlikely unless my company gets me off the road. Anywho I'm going to Bonneville Speed Week this year helping with the My Three Sons Roadster entry and familiarizing myself to this event, So it would be nice to meet some of you if you're attending Speed Week.

To the question, What is the best year evo sportster cases to use. I'm doing a pretty wild top-end and wish I could say more about it but it's racin! I'm only concerned with the strength of the cases/transmission and lifter bore area, etc....

Also what year did they start using pressed cranks? 2001? I will need crank work done and want to steer clear of those years. Any recommendations for the best solid rollers? pushrods?

I don't know about years, but Delkron makes them for racing purposes: http://www.delkron-mfg.com/info/about.asp

Expensive, but like Mr. Shelby says, "Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?"

Delkron does not make Sportster cases. You would want a set of S&S 100" cases if you are going to run A-PG 1650. Stock cases are not as strong and not really set-up for a 100" (1650cc) build. I would also suggest a set of S&S flywheels with Carillo rods if you want it to survive. But you can do a 99" build with a huge stroker crank using stock cases if you really want. NRHS can help you with all these parts if needed.

A stock flywheel is only good for up to 1470cc. if you are going for the 1650 class you will need a custom stroker flywheel so don't even worry about what year stock stuff will work as it is a moot point. The record is over 175 mph so you are going to need at least 150 hp to get there.
