Many people with free email accounts are having problems registering with THE XL FORUM. If you are one of these people please read this.

When you register with THE XL FORUM you will almost immediatly get a confirmation email from this website. In the email there is a link that you need to click which allows us to verify your email address. You must click on the email link within 24 hours or your membership with THE XL FORUM will not be activated. If you are an AOL user you may need to copy and paste the link.

The problem is that the confirmation email is going into your JUNK, BULK, or SPAM folder and you never see it .

What you need to do is after registering with THE XL FORUM is check your regular inbox for the confirmation email. If you do not see it within 5 to 10 minutes go to your junk, bulk, or spam folder and find the email. Then click on the link. You also need to configure your email to not filter emails from @xlforum.net and xlforumadmin@googlemail.com otherwise you will not get notification for any forum topic that you are subscribed to.

This will happen with many of the free email accounts such as AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, MSN, and other email accounts that have automatic email filtering.

If you still have problems logging on or registering please contact the site administrator.

Here are more email providers that may have problems. These ISPs or email providers believe that their users are not smart enough to filter their own email.

sbcglobal.net
wmconnect.com (part of AOL)

Bert, My friend GordonW logged in and got his confirmation email yesterday. Today they say he is viewing as a guest. He has the same email provider as I do. Any Ideas? Thanks! Rawhide

Can he sign in?

EDIT: You may have to copy and paste it into the browser window.

I use "Gmail" to get all my material and even though it's a free service, there are no problems. Also use it for other Forums and the PGR, so that's a fairly good e-mail provider if anyone is looking for one that's reliable.

I use Gmail for just about everything as well.

Although, some forums (such as a Suzuki one that I'm on) won't accept it. Oh well.

There is no one with the username GordonW registered. He will need to register and then I will activate his username or he can email using the CONTACT US form (at the bottom of the website) with his info and I will create his account.
