Anyone know anything about reconditioning old helmets or where I could buy one in good shape? I'm looking for something like this:

After 5 years any helmet that is DOT approved must be replaced due to the Styrofoam that breaks down over time.
I do not think you will find anyone who does reconditioning of helmets due to the liabilities that would be involved.
They would have to have the helmet recertified to DOT specs and that would not be cheap to do.
Now if you are wanting it to use as a novelty helmet then you might find some one who could form the Styrofoam for you and put in a new cloth cover for you.
But it bet they would make you sign a waiver releasing them of all liabilities.

I've got a Davida Speedster...it's a little thicker than a Buco, but still not a bulky as a new DOT "monster". A little pricey, but HIGH QUALITY english crafstmanship! www.davida.com
