Anyone familiar w/ the Big Red jack for motorcycles? Pep Boys has it on sale for $45 after rebate. I would like to have one of these for working on / cleaning the bike. The last bike I had, had a sidestand and a center stand. I like the center stand for cleaning the wheels etc. I'll be honest, the sidestand on this bike scares me. It looks too weak to hold all of that weight and it leans so far over. Here is a link. http://pepboys.crossmediaservices.com/pepboys/circular_browse_listing_detail.asp?storeid=2314757&pagenumber=1&rapid=100290&listingid=-2097441405&mapareaid=2581910&ref=%2Fpepboys%2Fcircular%5Fbrowse%5Fpage%5Fview%2 Easp%3Frapid%3D100290%26pagenumber%3D1%26storeid%3 D2314757 Thanks, Guy

I went on their website and it was like $90. So I figure if it is any good it is worth $45.

All these jacks must be made by the same company in China ... I have one that looks exactly like that, but it is called a "Team Mechanix" and I bought it at Checker Auto on sale for $50.
That Chinese factory is cranking out hundreds of thousands of these motorcycle lifts and re-badging them with maybe 20 or 25 different names for sale in various stores in the US.
I can tell you one thing ... That jack could [never] be manufactured here in the US for 45 to 90 bucks. Not even close!
BTW, it's a pretty good lift. You will need to get a piece of 1x6 wood to set between the two arms to make it work on your Sporty.

I had a similar one when I had my Glide and it was a pretty decent jack. Gave it to the guy I sold the scoot to. Sure regret that now.

I have been looking for one for my project bike. I usually see them for about $90.00 so I am definitely getting one.
Thanks for the heads up!
I encourage anyone who comes across deals like this to post them....especially when they are available for wide areas!

My jack came from O-riley autoparts.Looks the same, and WILL work as it comes from the store, without any mods or wooden blocks to hassle with.

Went to get one today, the first day of the sale, and of course they had none. The guy said they are on sale all month and he should get some Weds. I'll keep trying. Guy

Picked one up Weds and put it together today. Seems like a pretty good piece. I guess time will tell. For those that own one of these jacks, and don't ride much in the Winter, do you leave your bike on the jack or the stand? The stand kind of scares me. Guy

The stand isn't going anywhere. It's locked once it's extended and the weight of the bike is on it.

I agree with Russ,it is safer on the stand.
If it gets bumped into while on the jack it could fall over, even with tie downs on it.
