Hello Sporties
Has anyone tried Duralube? I had a 4wheeler a few years ago, went riding in the mountains, hit a rock lost all the oil and the engine kept running just like the TV showed. I had to drive that thing about 3 miles to get it back home. After I got it home, I flipped it over and there was a large hole in between the two engine halves, so I got some JB weld and fixed that problem. The point is will Duralube hurt any seal in the '04, 883 engine if I use it. :banana

You may want to consider that putting that stuff in your engine may void your warranty.

I'd also point out that riding a street bike does not put you in situations that have you racing past rocks and other obstacles that could smash a hole in you engine like you find in the woods on a dirt bike. I'd also point out a good quality full skid plate would have prevented any damage to your ATV's engine :doh So, its seems to me the more worthwhile investment for yor ATV would have been a skid plate, not the duralube.

Use a good quality motorcyle oil and change your fluids and filter at the approptiate intervals and your bike and your warranty will be just fine.

I had an old Chevy Astro van with 300,000 miles on it. I was pulling the enclosed bike trailer to N.Dakota to a race. Temperature guage was reading pretty high in Iowa's 100+ heat and I needed to take it out of overdrive to get the temp barely out of the red. Pulled into a K-mart or Wally world and found some of that stuff and thought WTF, worth a shot. After that the temp stayed way below the red driving the same way in the same heat. Snake oil? Maybe, maybe not. Good in a Harley motor? Ain't tried it there. Good for the long term? Who knows?!! I just know what I experienced with it.
