man I cant believe what a bone head manuver I pulled today . I was gonna change my oil and transmission lube and give the bike a once over since the wife and I are taking a little trip this weekend.

drained the oil pulled the old filter off , put the new filter in added a quart of oil then I went to let just a bit dribble out of the drain hose and tightend it all back up grabbed another quart of oil and chugged it in then looked at the bottle . :censor damn sports trans is what I pored in the oil tank , one whole quart . what an idiot so I drained the tank and now im gonna have to go and get another quart of sports trans and anohter quart of oil. what a damn idiotic manuver. somebody just shoot me :doh

When I worked at a rental shop, we had a customer top off the tank with fuel before he brought his chipper back. Unfortunately, it was the oil tank and not the fuel tank.

I know its not the end of the world but of all the people who should know better , its not like this is the first time I have changed oil in a bike or a dozen other different pieces of equipment I am so damn anal about doing something right the first time , when I put face plates and switch covers on all the screw slots have to be turned the same direction or I spaz out lol . I guess it happens to the best of us.

I use Mobil 1 15W50 in both the engine and transmission. Makes life a little simpler - one less product in my workshop.

I "have heard" that sporttrans is 10W40.

while rebuilding the motor on my 85 ATC250r ,a bud and I drank a case on beer alittle to fast, This is why ya shoulnt drink 6 beers 10 mins before a rebuid :laugh After we put the motor back together and got ready to put it back in the frame "crack another beer" I grabed the old crank and rod and was going to show my bud why we were doing this ,,
I noticed that the new crank and rod was in my hand :censor
It gets better ,,,After tearing the motor back apart and puting in the new crank and rod,thinking this is it now,"crack open another beer" my bud asked me what these washers were for :censor ,Kick start spacers,,at leased we didnt have to split the motor again,I pull the cover off to find that all the washers are in there right place,no more , no less ,,
I consulted the book xploeded diagram ,yep all there,,,
"cracked another beer" We came up with Quote--They had to come out so they have to go back in unquote,,,, So I put the las 2 washers in...... :doh On the 1st kick it fired up,but the motor grabbed the kickstart lever and tryed to snap off the footpeg,,it almost killed the motor it was so tite :doh ,,,time for another beer I heard my bud say :roflblack
I tore the cover off again ,,took out the washers ,,,put it back together,,,by this time were reaaly starting to feel it,,,bud says ready for another,,,,I said shure,fired right up and then killed it , because I was way to drunk to ride it :sofa .....ran like a raped ape after that,,
We still laugh about it still 7 years later and it still makes me laugh my azz off!!!!
