I've got an 04 1200 R, and I wanted to make some changes, like bigger tank, new bars, and a different headlight. (I'm not a big fan of the tiny little stock headlight with the visor. ) I wanna ditch the visor and go for a bigger light, and as I was searching through catalogs I found a sweet Headwinds light. The problem is, it says it mounts to a 3/4 inch block only. What is this 3/4 in. block they are referring to?

Any help would be appreciated.

That Headwinds headlight has a fork type lower mounting bracket attched to it. The 3/4" block would bolt to the lower fork triple tree and the Head winds light would bolt to that. This would allow the headlight ot move up/down to adjust your beam pattern. Check out J&P Cyles website at www.jpcycles.com look under Headlights, Spotlights and Tailights Housings and you will see the Headwinds light. there should be a pic of the mounting blocks also. :smoke Hrdly

Unless you have a hole in the Bottom tree, you will have to drill a hole in it or replace it with a Sporty Custom Type Triple Tree in order to mount a none OEM head Light!!!!

I'm in the Process of doing the same Thing, Hate that "Eyebrow" thingy!!!! :yikes

Yeah, I don't see a specific block for the Evo Sporty triple tree. Looks like you use a their custom block and then have to adapt to your specific use. Shouldn't be difficult to do. Hrdly

The Part Number for the '03 "HEADLAMP MOUNT" is #67919-96, not sure if it's the same for the '04!!

I was just in the local dealer today, and the 04-05 customs seem to have the same mounting block as the 00-03 custom.

Shoot them an email and they will get back with you. I have talked to them several times and they seem like great people.
