Got any shades for big heads like myself?

I was lookin and I only found 1 b frame in clear only.

Is that all ya got?

Adios

The "A" styles will fit you great too. I'm not going to be carrying the "B" models anymore. I've even had guys who have bigger or smaller heads "heat" the glasses up with a heat gun or hair dryer and "shape" the glasses to their faces and they end up working perfectly for them.

I got a pair of the regular dark ones. Man I love them! I'll be getting one one of the light changing. How light do the medium to dark get? In other words, can I use them at night or would I be better getting the light to medium and just deal with squinting during the afternoon hours?

I have a Q to any one who has these... do they fog up? I have a pair of nice ones but when I use them and stop on the bike at a light or if I wear them to say jsut wear. They fog up its quite annoying.

MidWest XL
13th October 2006, 17:10
I think "most" mc-specific glasses and goggles will fog some. The foam around the glasses are to keep wind from coming in and consequently form a "seal" against your cranium not allowing heat to escape as efficiently as a normal pair of sunglasses without any foam would. There are products you can buy to prevent fogging when applied to the inside of the lenses, but I don't know how well those products work (or don't). Maybe others will chime in here. I own 3 pair of these (clear, yellow & smoke) and they do fog up some at lights. I simply pull them away from my face a bit and they quickly clear up. I push them back snug when the light turns green. They are great MC Glasses, IMO.

Mine do fog up a little at stoplights, but not that bad. I do like he said above. Just pull them away from your face and they clear up.

Pros: The best cheap pair of sunglasses you can find! I really like the style and the selection of lenses. Have bought 7 pair or so for myself and family.
Service is fast too, and these guys are great to deal with.

Cons: The polarized lenses seem to be out of stock often. I've got a big fat head, about 7 3/4 to 7 7/8 hat size, so these glasses are a bit snug and leave some room around the lense a bit for air to get into. They fit my son very well though. Also I've had two frames snap when I was putting them on. Both breaks were on the arm, one next to the ear and the other next to the hinge. This was after a year of service however and I felt I got a lot of use out of them. For the price, they're great. My head is just a little off size.

tekman
11th February 2007, 05:01
:) thanks guys.

Polarized glasses--not a lot of want for them, so I don't get them in as often, but should have them back in stock in about 2 weeks.

I just got my polarized smokes in the mail this evening. For night riding, would you suggest clear or yellow lenses? I sometimes use my yellow shooting glasses in a pinch at night and it seems to amplify the light and make things more crisp. Is that what others have found as well?

tekman
31st March 2007, 03:43
The ambers will do the same thing, they brighten everything up, including any lights that are in the area.

I prefer the clears for a city type area, and the ambers for a country type area only because the ambers will brighten everything up, any light, any store front, etc... but that's my personal preference I have people who love them anywhere.

I received my medium to dark transitions BMG glasses last week. I give them two thumbs up. The transitions are perfect for Houston weather where it's sunny one minute and overcast the next. The gasket around the eyepieces works very well to keep the wind off my eyes and eyelids. I got the bike up to about 90 mph and had NO eyelid flutter, which has previously only been accomplished with goggles.

Ian was very helpful and responsive and shipping was quick.

BTW, just type "please send my free bag per your offer on the XL Forum" in the notes box as you're checking out, and Ian will send you the vinyl bag free of charge. Shipping was free too!

$25 bucks well spent IMO!

Ok folks, I'm going to plug for one of the forum supporting vendors here.

I've been wearing two pair of these for two weeks now (one for day and one for night). Don't make the mistake of thinking that the low price of these glasses means that they are cheap crap. They are well made, fit well, and are quite light. I bought a pair of dark tint for the sunny days and a pair of yellow tint for night riding. The dark tinted pair resolves my squinting during the brightest part of the day, and I absolutely love the clarity the yellow lenses provide on overcast days and at night. The foam lens rings shield out any stray light from breaking in and blinding me, while still providing just enough ventilation to keep my eyes from drying out.

Easily the best riding glasses for the cost that I’ve encountered.

Grade = A+

Any knives left for sale?

luisuie
27th July 2008, 03:37
Don't mean to burst everyone's bubble but I ordered two pairs last year and they were NOT the best motorcycle glasses for me. They were too tight and left a mark on my sides, below my temples that stayed for hours. Because they were too small they would not stay close to my face and all the wind went around the frames, around the foam and into my eyes causing them to tear up. If only they were a little wider. Now I am stuck with them, maybe I should sell them. Tried one of each frame style and neither was good for me. They look cool and the quality looks good too, but they are not for me.

tekman
27th July 2008, 04:57
you could of tried the Heat Method (use hair dryer or heat gun, keep enough distantce so they don't melt) which works for shaping them to your head.

Heat the nose bridge area up and then slowly bend them to fit your face, either making them tighter or looser.

luisuie
27th July 2008, 05:23
I did use the heat method and that helped a little but not much. Maybe it wasn't hot enough.
