I pulled the gas tank off and saw that the rear head/cylinder comes out with ease. The front looks a little more snug.

Will the front head and cylinder come off with the motor still in the frame? That would be a HUGE time and headache saver...

might get an answer if we knew what year and model Buell you have.

sorry..

01 X-1 Lightning

it looks like the head will come off and slide out the side of the bike....then the cylinder might come up through the smaller opening...

I'm REALLY not familiar with Buells, but if you can't do a top-end in the frame, something is seriously wrong with SOMEONE'S head at the MOCO...

Yes, the front head and cylinder will come off with the engine on the frame. The top rocker cover is a little fiddly to get out and in again, and a couple of the screws holding it in are fiddly.
Also, you'll need to prop the engine before you can remove the front motor mount that's bolted to the front head.

It's a little awkward, but it's easier than taking the whole engine out of the frame!:)
