There was a great offer from Bell Canada.
Get Bell's internet service and receive a free HD PVR.
Sounds good right? Yes it does.
But they are close to being fraudulent.
They never mention that there is an $150 "installation" fee for the PVR.
Its not even in the fine print.
Now they may be losing all of our business.

i hear you Luke, both companies just had issues because of false advertising.
They advertise a monthly fee but don't include all the extra fees like admin, set up etc.
Bell's fine was in the millions.
Problem is Rogers is not any better. So pick your poison.

I hate Rogers, with a PASSION. The lowest forms of scumbags on the planet.

I thought that was TELUS. But other than that, I recently called BELL, and after a few coversations, found that all that sounded great, actually was not as it seems, the more I inquired and found out all the extras. Won't be going there.

I thought that was TELUS.
Telus and Rogers are two different companies.

Thanks for the update. We were thinking of switching our cable to Bell sat with the free PVR deal but knew there would be a catch somewhere. It appears you found it.

Lenster - I guess what I mean was that I thought TELUS was the lowest form of scum. I know they are separate entities. I guess that's just how it looked while typing.

Here's a quick update.
If you keep saying "This is not acceptable, I want to talk to your supervisor." often enough (and calmly enough), you get results.
My wife spent a couple hours on the phone, saying exactly that, "This is not acceptable, I want to talk to your supervisor" long enough to 3 different people that she finally got a phone number that got her to talk to someone who could do something.
That person waived the (non advertised) fee and also gave another HD package (HD Sports) free of charge.
But its frustrating to go thru crap like that after 10 years with them for phones and TV. In that time, we probably gave them around $15000.
And I thought it was funny looking at the results for a Bell Canada search on Facebook. There is quite a few people who dont like them at all.

Good on your spouse to be persistant. More people should put their feet to the fire.
