So earlier today I bought a set of new fork tubes for the '83 (stock length, mine had measured +2), only to find out that the entire front end on the bike is from '84. The front end always seemed to sit a smidge too high so I'm wondering if the length changed between the 2 years. If not, anyone wanna trade some +2 forks for a '84 for some stock length?

79+ were actually 2+ tubes (fx length)
79-85 should be the same.
what length are they?

I think the 2" over forks were only used on the XLS Roadster models.
Otherwise I think all 75 to 85 front ends are Showa, all basically the same except for the mounting points for the various front brake rotors.
A careful study of the parts catalog pages for the front forks would show the specific differences, if any.

The forks are Showa. With them fully extended (no load whatsoever) they measure 25 1/4 inches from axle centerline to bottom of neck.
