I have the original points cover on my motor, which is held in by 2 rivets. I was looking at the expanded view in the shop manual, snd this looks to be just an "outer cover". There isn't any oil on the other side of this cover, right? I can drill out those rivets, and I'll get to the actual inner points cover that is held in with screws...which covers the sensor plate...

making sure, I'd like to get one of those funky point covers to give the case some character...

Drill them out. The new cover screws to the special studs that hold the igniton pickup in place. There are lots of cool replacement ones out there. Mine is from Zambini bros I think. Looks coooooolllll 3d graphics
