Hey Guys I am almost done with my bike as it has been Hell ! I am currently helping my friend put his bike together as we are changing the Head Gaskets. Im pretty sure you know when he comes by he always says he cant wait till mine is fixed so he can put a Licking on me ! Friends can do that. We would be this at the Keenedale Dragstrip. It is 1/8th mile. Now I already know his BIke is Extremely fast for being a 76 and I know its pretty tourqey ! But I have Ridden his Bike and Think I could Take him in the 1/8th ! After that his High Rpm ange would Kick in... Any thought ? Anybody ever race one. This is not Serious ! I think it would be Fun to post this Video... I love my Flip

I've never heard of a 1/8th mile strip. So short IMO, it would all be upto reflex off the line and shifting. I meen we're talking about like a 6 second race.

Really? Well here in Texas we have 1/8--1/4-and the Texas mile
The closest 1/4 mile track to me has a crappy strip. The best one is over a hour and half away. Id hate to break something so far away.

1/8th mile races are quite common or at least use to be. Often times run by two stroke engines. Considering that both riders are equal in competence that Kawasaki will kick your ass IMHO.

Your 1250 should be a pretty even match up with the Kaw. My old stock 77 1000 Kaw did 12.5s in the quarter, and the Sporty, when it was a piston and jug 1200 conversion, otherwise stock ran 12.5s too. The Kaw is a damn heavy bike compared to a Sporty.

you should be fine. If he starts to get away from you, tap his front brake lever

Well Im a More experienced Rider than he is. Even though His Bike Is Fast, that thing Feels Extremely Heavy. He cant Launch Hard becasue it Gets Lose In the Back end. I can Launch hard Because I have a Stretched Swingarm...I will post a Video as soon as it goes Down ! : D

No offense but the KZ 900 was the original drag bike..even a mediocre rider should do fine in that distance..

Im going to unfortunately have to agree here unless that KZ has carb issues or something like that or an extremely weak rider you will likely lose

I think it will be very close for an eighth. I think the difference will be in who gets the best launch.
