View Full Version : How old are we?
rfranz1952 5th January 2008, 16:09 I have seen a few posts regarding age, but no polls that gather the information.
According to the conventional wisdom, Harley riders are the "mature" members of the biking community. Please respond with your chronological age, not with how old you feel or act.

Some days I DO 110! :banana
Imagine that!:doh I really thought it would be skewed more towards the 50's--as you say, the downhill side. I prefer to think of it as an uphill in reverse:p
DudleyDoRight 5th January 2008, 19:43 They say "life begins at 40", so I'm only 10!

dagsportster 5th January 2008, 21:03 Turning out to be a nice bell-shaped curve, although I'd like to see more riders in the 50-70 range. I'm 49 and it depresses me to think I might only ride for another 20 years...
JayFL459 5th January 2008, 21:13 Turning out to be a nice bell-shaped curve, although I'd like to see more riders in the 50-70 range. I'm 49 and it depresses me to think I might only ride for another 20 years...

Cheer up. Maybe you will be capable of riding a Sportster for another 20 years. You could then move up (down?) to an E-glide. That's my plan.:)
rottenralph 6th January 2008, 00:50 I think 42 is leading the pack. Saw atleast 4 of us. Nice comeback 40 somethings.

mikgordon 7th January 2008, 23:15 Hey! Watch who you are calling mature! I resent that, I still act like a kid, just ask my wife.
SportyJoe 8th January 2008, 00:08 Old enough to know better.... young enough to do it anyway, and better than most!
bdbecker 8th January 2008, 00:27 I was watched "The Good Shepard" last night and heard a great quote that went something like this: "I held a handful of sand and foolishly asked for as many years as there were grains - a fool because I should have asked for years of youth..." (not exactly correct, but close enough).
I'm 24 and enjoying the fact that I can still drive a hot-rodded lawnmower up a tree, have it land on me, and walk away uninjured, all while not spilling a drop of beer.
jimmyess333 8th January 2008, 00:30 36
I can honestly say my 20's SUCKED.
Glad to be in my 30's and having all start to come together.

fireman41 7th August 2008, 19:01 Currently 19 but the way I see it after your 18 age is just a number. Some of my friends are 19 and act 2 and some act 40 and the both have the same amount of fun. So do, act, say, feel whatever age you want and dont let anyone tell you any different.
AOW 7th August 2008, 19:38 If only I'd replied to this thread when it first came out I could have been in the 30-39 bracket but I just crossed over into the 40-49 bracket!

Even if I would have been smart enough to buy a Sportster when I was your age, I probably wouldn't have been smart enough to hang on to it. I'll guaranty that if you keep it for the next 30 years that it will be one of your most valued possessions.
I have a Fender Telecaster guitar that I bought one month before I bought my first Motorcycle. (I'd love to have that little Honda 50S: it's probably in a landfill somewhere: and it was not anywhere as cool as your 883R is.) That guitar is the most important thing I own, by far.
On the other hand, sell it and I will also guaranty that it will be the one you look back on and think: "Why did I ever sell that bike?"
JJs1200c 8th August 2008, 16:16 35 here since May
Beltfed 8th August 2008, 19:33 I turn 25 next month.... :doh
Mischka 8th August 2008, 20:21 43. I didn't know I was old until I flew somewhere last month. I wanted a magazine and started to look at what was available. I was stunned that there were several targeted at women over 40. Wow! If I live as long as 3 of my grandparents I'm not even middle aged yet, but I guess the press thinks women my age need encouragement and special focus.
Likemlouder 9th August 2008, 02:50 i will be 56 in october:banana:banana

What, no idea how you lasted this long...? :p
kiltbill 11th August 2008, 22:27 But the question was how old are we? Does that mean you and me? Or did you mean "we" as in everyone who posted?
Hard to answer the first one because I don't know how old you are, I know how old I am and also how old I feel. But if it was related to everyone that posts, then the answer will change after every post.
Therefore you can only get the average of "we" at the time of posting, but if someone else posts 5 minutes later it will no longer be accurate. I do like maths, but moving mathematics is on a whole new level.
But if it is answer 1, I would have to say "we" are A + B = C. But still I cannot calculate C, as I don;t know what the answer to B is. If the answer is 2, then technically it can never be accurate as long as people keep posting.
My question is...
Why did you post such a difficult question?
Are you Stephen Hawkins?
:D:)
