I'm looking to get a screen for long trips and I can pick up a street shield for an ok price............I just want something to knock a bit of the windblast off at 75/85 mph on long trips............

Anyone got this screen?........how do you rate it?..........

Any feedback appreciated...........

Is it this one Jack?

A mate used to have a similar screen on his Sporty and he hated it coz it created a turbulance pocket near his face and made his sunnies jiggle.

He made another screen like this..

..Which he said worked better but was still not perfect

Yeah....thats the one Phil.........I've only ever had one screen and that was on an old FLH.............I want one for the sporty just for when I do long trips..............it doesn't have to be quick detach or anything........just something to reduce windblast...........

If I wasn't such a lazy bastard I'd make one............but I'm getting very slack in my old age........

I'll ask him if he's still got his screens. He doesn't have a Sporty anymore and I dunno if he sold the screens with the bike.
If he's still got 'em I bet he'd do 'em for a good price.

I had a Street shield on my bike for a while, and it worked for me. The bike was a '02 with the small tank. There is quite a bit of adjustment available with the handlebar mounts. Where you have the shield set, the gap above the headlight, and the rake angle all make a big difference.

The only complaint I had with the street shield was in crosswinds. They caused a large effect on the bike.

I have this one It's from HD and it works fine for me. I didn't think I would like one but after some time with it I wouldn't like it without now It really takes some of the wind out of your face.

Hi.

The One I have is a Harley part, a Fly screen for a V-rod.

(I Need to get some new Pictures)

Anyway, this screen works well for my Custom, and keeps the wind off my chest.
No turbulence to speak of, and hey, it's a Harley part.
I did need to modify the front mount to fit, not much, just a little..
If you do not have a custom, you will need to get the chrome extension headlight ring for the front mount point.

Have the National Cycle Switchblade Shorty, eases the initial wind blast, small but get some turbulance in traffic. I do like it, it's a quick release and you can swap between 2 other shields.

I have the National Cycle Dakota 3.0mm windshield and I like it. It keeps the wind off my chest and doesn't let the wind buffet my helmet. I thought I had a picture of it on my bike but...I can't find it. I must have misplaced the image file. I'll keep looking for it and when I come across it, I'll post it.

Jack,

I used this on the Sporty for a few months and it works well. I like it slanted back so it looked better and routed the air over the head. Straight up worked even better for a half helmet and shades. If you get one, make sure to get the newer type bar mounts. The steel clamps on mine tore up the chrome on the handlebars.

Here's the pic of my National Cycle Dakota 3.0. I couldn't find the one I was looking for so I snapped off a pic real quick the other day. Not the best shot but what can I say it was cold and snowy.

I have the National Cycle Plexifairing 3 on my 01 Custom. I love it fits nicely around my headlight and pushes all the wind above my head and I see just over the top of it. The side shields work nicely to push the wind away from my knees and down to my feet area. Is some adjustment to riding in cross winds but once your used to it, piece of cake.

Hey Jeffytune,
Can you give us some close ups of your fly screen and mounts? It looks very cool.

I have the Plexifairing 3 like ~SNO~ and I do like it.
I did a review in the review section.

I have a sheild from harley on my 05 883c, I had it put on before I got the bike. I hate it. The wind hits me right in the face and comes around the sides and hit my shoulders. I had a national cycles street sheild on a 750 Honda that my 883 replaced after being rearended. And it worked great. The wind went just over my head and past my arms. I wish I would have got another street sheild instead of the Harley one that I have now. I think it was 17" above the head light and it worked good for me.

This will be the last windshield I'll ever buy,big $, but really works. It's the small Windvest.
