Damn,
Doing my long overdue 1000 mile maintenance I was forced to go out to the Japanese HD dealer for tran fluid. It was $25 dollars a quart.:doh Thank God Ionly need one quart. I am still ahead though and it is fun toying with the bike. I will definately have it mailed to me next time. I can get oil here no problem on base either Rev Tech or AMSOil. I yet to see :censor tranny fluid though.

Lesson learned.

Ouch... I hate to think what Syn3 would be...

BTW: lots of folks use oil in the tranny... Amsoil 20W50 should work, but Amsoil 70W90 gear lube would be better...

You just bought the nicest quart of oil in the world! :banarock
Seriously though, that is Farkin outrageous. How do they justify that?
Anyone looking at a price like that should think twice, look at the ratings on the bottle and buy something comparable. Amsoil has an oil applications PDF on their website at http://www.amsoil.com/lit/harley_davidson_TSB.pdf

You non-US riders have it tough- a new definition of stealership, anyways. I was in Germany a couple weeks back, stopped by a HD dealer for a T-shirt- 25 euros, not cheap, but not too far off a US t-shirt price. However, I noticed prices of about 650 euros (about $800) for a HD leather jacket that would run about $500 here. Syn3 oil? 16 euro, about $19! Bike prices were about the same numerically, but in euros, so a 20% premium if you're thinking dollars. OUCH!

In return though, the Germans get some beautiful scenery and nice roads to ride on.
