This Bob McKay from Shallow Lakes, Ontario seems to have a pretty good handle on customizing bikes...I thought these Buells were done well...he had the lower one for sale for $15K which probably isn't too bad of a deal once you read what all he's done to it! I think it recently sold, though...he might take orders!

not quite what Erik had in mind when he put his name on the sporty engined frame...

But even tho I wouldn't call it Buell ... I like both of 'em

I like the the buell chops. I would like them even better if they weren't rigid.
I prefer to ride than parade and a rigid, as cool as it looks, is just not a bike for the trip.

The 1st one looks slightly more comfortable than the 2nd one.
They look great if you like riding around all day sitting on your boys!

Think about it, forward controls, little pullback on the bars, and a seat shaped like that.

Umm, NO. Not for me. Good looking but not practical, as said before.

Man your right think about a warm ride and then hit the speed bumps just a little to fast you might cause yourself some serious damage???:frownone
RATTS
But you have to acknowledge the great work and talent that went into the builds.

Hey guys,

I'm building a Buell chop right now and I've done a load or research before starting. Bob McKay uses Redneck Engineering (Mutant Buell) and MC Works (Streetfighter) frames. You can check their websites for more info.
I personally prefer the MC Works frames because they are more rideable. They have less rake (35 vs 40 Redneck) and even though the seat hight is the same the MC frame is higher so you don't have to lead down as much. Now the kicker is MC Works makes a softail version of the Streetfighter frame by special order. I had a long talk with one of the owners Frank and can do it. So that is the preferred choice as far as Buell Chopper kits go.

Does anyone know if that's an off the shelf exhaust on this bike at McKay's site?

Like the gas tank treatment, the way it follows the engine countours. Looks like a Redneck fame though. Seen a ton of the Redneck Buells. This is the first one that has a gas tank that was actually a deliberate design element, rather than tacked on as an afterthought. Very cool.

Looks a lot like a modified RB racing pipe......If not, I've seen it before, thinking
