the se airfilter kit 29042-04a, does anyone knows who makes the airfilter. understand they are washable but not to be oiled. also can you put a real k&n airfilter into the se housing. ( hd-8834 ) I read that filter will fit into a stock housing but nowhere I can find if it will fit into a se hi-airflow housing. thanks

I got a hold of K&N today, and they said that the hd-8834 will not fit into the SE air filter housing.( 29042-04a ) but you can use a hd-0800 in that housing.

I would buy one in a second!!!!!! 4 months and HD has still not got me a replacment!

I would do some double checking. I was disappointed when I found out that the SE was not a washable K&N filter. There are other choices out there but I have not decided which way I'm going to go yet.

Dave, what does the filter look like? is it round with a taper ( 6" down to 5" ). my bike is still in the shop I going to pick it up tomarrow, pending weather ( it's been pooring rain for a week ). I think I found one on line and it's worth 33.00 to me to have it have it.
