Pulled primary could see nothing out of Ordin..
Going to install New Clutch and Kicker G
I have few questions with FM instructions.
1) Crankshaft end play P. 4-18 what’s a Dial Indicator, and what type do I buy is there different kinds.
2) When they say ENDPLAY do they mean after it’s all tightened down there should be a space of .001 to .007 and if space is not between that
I put .007 SHIM
And do I leave it in. An tighten it all own, or do I verify space and then Remove Shim .
Instead of measuring it could I just see if .007 shim fits tight and if it does that tells me its .007 like FM says

Question 2 FM 4-19
Check GEAR (6) and CRANK GEAR (12) for LASH (PLAY) through Range of Engagement .
??? DO they mean I want play, so another words I should have some Looseness when gears are connecting??
4-19 CAUTION ???
What are they saying "Check Clearance between TEETH Rat. Gear & Starter Ratchet "
??? I don’t know where they mean to measure. This is to confusing Need some1 to show ya this or A VIDEO on Yout. To show.

TOP OF RACHET GEAR ??? Will this be a DIAGONAL MEASUREMENT or straight up and Down ????

In Number 2 Instructions, it says "Measure Distan. TOP Starter Teeth to Clutch Sprock Thrust Washer
?? In Fig 4-14 Exploded View, It does not say THRUST WASHER ANYWHERE
Are they Referring to 15 Thrust Plate???
No Clue How or what they mean I don’t know where there talking about will I be measuring up & Down, Left to right???
Video would be great to confusing to explain in words. Remember not some1 who has been inside Clutch Bask.

I have Both SPACERs for 72 Sporty How Will I know when space is correct
Will Sprocket Space and Rat Gear be tight together,??? Or will the Teeth be Meshing Perfectly together with a Snug fit??

More than Happy to pay someone for that. It is worth it. Too many Question and it’s tough to stop work go post Question then wait for answer..

What’s the Best Clutch I could Buy Kevlar Drive Plate & Driven Plate any New Material that’s just Incredibly Durable. Leaps above Stock Parts.
Any particular Brand.
And how about all the little stuff Washers, Bearings, Nuts, Springs Etc
Any certain Brand or Material Parts are made with that’s leaps ahead of Run of the Mill parts.
SHOULD I Stay away from Certain Countries that make these items. Many folks have said China, Taiwan make junk don't buy it. I' Like to buy as much USA made as is Possible.
This I guess is especially true with the Kicker Clutch Gear, and starter Clutch. Forum Commenter’s have said Quality Control for these items must be Precise
So from top to bottom when I do it I want the Best that’s available that’s way everything is Quality. I'd like to buy everything New right on down to smallest washer if USA STEEL is Best That’s what I'd like to buy. If titanium is best, that’s what I'd like.
I have clutch already as stated earlier but I can bring it back and get whatever you guys suggest.
I know you fellas have years of experience And I trust what you say.
Same thing with Kicker Gear a Certain Manufacture.. That you think is better than Rest that’s what I would like.
The only thing I would say is Old Sporty Friend always told me to stay away from Racing clutches, Especially Barnet Racing Clutch. He said there infamous for Slipping & jumping out of Gear.
And several people I know who put them in there Sporty's said they were nothing but trouble. I'm not looking to do any Drag racing Just want the Best of everything.
Only want to have to do this once and know I have High Quality parts installed.
