View Full Version : Alexandria VA, Washington DC area Guinnessharp 10th January 2005, 22:45 Does anyone have any suggestions on a good dealership or Indy in the area? ESCOBAR 11th January 2005, 01:58 yeah!!!!!!!! Fort Washington HDfort washington dealer! (http://www.hdwash.com) good people and about 10 minutes away from the wilson bridge heading down towards Indian Head MD. :tour if not make your way to patriot in fairfax va. or go down to dumfries va. on route 1 hope i helped ya out :D :tour ESCOBAR :tour Guinnessharp 11th January 2005, 14:37 Thanks Escobar! That's what I was looking for! ESCOBAR 11th January 2005, 21:25 no problem at all Guinnessharp :D :D ESCOBAR 74FeHeadXLH 11th January 2005, 21:49 Hey guinness, what's happenin? Escobar is right Fort Wash H-D is probably the best stealership in the area (right on Indian Head Hwy in MD. acrooss the Woodrow Wilson bridge) although East Coast(in Dumfries VA) and Whitts(in Manassass VA) are good too. However THE best Indy in the norther VA area is Custom Cycle Acc. in springfield VA owned by R.C. the phone # 703 451-3360, he's a real down to earth guy and honest. If you feel like a great country road type dest. ride , Waugh Ent. is one of those destination type dealerships (as is Fort Wash.) about 55-60 mi. west of D.C. out past Culpepper almost to the mountains, beutiful out there.....Mike 74XLH stageII ESCOBAR 11th January 2005, 22:01 Yeah I want to make my way to Waugh Ent. and check out thier store hopefully work will take me out that way if not it will be late spring or summer till I ride out that way :tour :D ESCO :D 74FeHeadXLH 12th January 2005, 03:09 Yea man, Waugh Ent. is a pretty cool destination, not to mention it's a great ride out there. Let me know when you get a chance to go there, maybe we can organize a group, or if anything else Guiness is in the D.C. metro area shoot there's three...Mike Guinnessharp 12th January 2005, 15:46 I would definatly be up for a springtime ride out to Waugh Ent. ESCOBAR 13th January 2005, 02:12 RGR THAT count me in :D :D ESCO :D shooter 25th January 2005, 02:12 Come on down to Waugh Enterprises in Orange. Its a great ride and every side road you take makes for good riding. I'm a little prejudice since I live in orange, but its a great dealership and has some great service people. We also have an excellent dealer supported HOG chapter. I'm just a customer, but they treat you like family. Shooter UberXY 15th February 2005, 19:36 I have heard a lot of good things about Waugh - which is not far from me - but I gotta relate a story about the one and only time I tried to deal with them. In 99 I decided I would get an ElectraGlide, my first HD after riding BMWs for 13 years. I called Waugh, asked if I could come buy one, cash. They said, no, we don't have any. I said, could I order one? They said no, they couldn't get me one. I said, can I order one for next year? They said no, because I wasn't already a customer. So I said, you got a cash customer on the phone who wants to spend money, and you can't think of any way of helping him spend it? They said, yep. So I called Mortons BMW, which is nearby. Told them I wanted a black R1100S, a rare bike at the time, about the price of the Electro. They said, call you back in ten minutes. They call back, said we found one at a dealer 1500 miles away, we will ship it here no cost, do you mind waiting 2 weeks? So I got a BMW, not an HD. Morton's got money, Waugh did not. However, I went to Shenandoah HD in Waynesboro two weeks ago and asked to get a new Sportster. They said sure, what color? And is March delivery ok? So a month from now I'll be Sportin' it. YMMV, Uber shooter 18th February 2005, 09:50 You should have stopped by Waughs. They had about 8 Sportsters on the floor over the last two weeks, at MSRP. Sorry you didn't get the bike you wanted in 99. Their customer base tends to be very loyal because of the treatment that we receive there. The ElectraGlides are always in high demand so they don't last at any of the dealers very long. Sometimes, there are periods when they know that they have a very limited number of FL's coming in over the next several months and they don't like to take advance orders if they aren't sure that they can fill them. if you read about some of the other dealers in the Va area, you will find posts that people ordered bikes and were promised them by certain dates and then the dealer doesn't deliver until two or three months later. shooter IntelGunny 27th February 2005, 05:10 I live in Fredericksburg, and have been to both Waugh and to Fort Washington HD. Both are great dealers and treat folks right. The ride to Waugh is just beautiful. IntelGunny missyd 27th February 2005, 10:29 Have not spent one single minute at a official HD dealer since over 10 months!!!! :yikes This means that I also did not spent one single $$$ or CHF there too!!! :yikes But thats just because I do not need anything for my bike and other shops retailers are much cheaper!!!! :D :D :D Guinnessharp 21st July 2005, 19:26 Thought I would just bring out an old post for a new question. Has anyone in the area had any experience with the DevilDawg Harley in the area. I tried to see if they had a web page. Mabye some one could help me out. :tour Tribe92Z 21st July 2005, 22:37 www.devildawg.net they are not a harley dealer. They are a custom chopper shop. Have not dealt with them. Just seen the location. vetteguy 22nd July 2005, 01:54 Try here http://www.stealer-dealer.com/ flskevin 22nd July 2005, 02:46 I do most of my business at Waugh's, I know people that don't like the dealership but I have had nothing but good experiences with them. As far as uberxy, I think the reason you were not able to get that bike is dealerships are very careful not to poach business from other HD dealerships. The last time I bought a bike I tried to go to a different dealsership and they wouldn't sell me the bike cause I lived closer to another dealer. The closer dealer had a higher price and that sucked. But sometimes I think you get a salesman that just doesn't want to do any work to make the sale. Hey all you new N. virginia riders keep checkin' in here! N. VA riders thread!!
