Lots of people have, just make sure you get the ones for your year. These came from Ebay used and painted black.
Harley has some for your bike and aftermarket has the same thing for less money. You usually need to buy pegs also. Just bolt right on.

Welcome from Canada's Capital!
The mounts (above) will not work if you have forward controls. Mid controls will work fine though.

The pegs in Oreocat's picture will work- I've got them on my '05 standard with mid-pegs and they are great as an alternate place to put the legs/feet.
But here's another thing: They make great crashbars! Ask me how I know. Nevermind, I'll tell you. Dumped the bike on the left side while doing about 25. Went sliding down the road. That damn highway peg is built so stout that it saved both my bars and tank from damage. Front fender only got a *slight* scrape right along the front edge. The highway peg itself was scraped but not bent! Amazing. Rear turn signal kept the back end up.
Harley parts, I'll tell ya, they're tough. People make fun of Harleys for being big and heavy. But I sure would not wanted to have to rely on the turn signals and highway pegs on a Jap bike to keep it from being damaged in a fall. I'd buy those highway pegs and put them on even if you never used 'em!
