I need to replace my upper triple tree, it's cracked. I'm wondering what parts could swap for the stock triple tree. I tried to get a stocker from the dealer but they said it's no longer available from buell. if I'm right the 03-05 xb 9 and 12 have the same part? any other options aside from a custom 400 dollar billet replacement that changes the geometry? I'm looking for a more agressive ride and all the triples I see sit the rider up more.. anything will help.. links would be better. thanks!

What! Buell can't replace a part from 2003? That doesn't sound right to me. I know Buell fork diameter has grown some over the past few years but still...

The 41mm slider tube forks have 54mm outer fork tubes at both the upper and lower triple clamps. The 43mm slider tube forks have 54mm outer fork tubes at the upper triple clamp and 56mm outer fork tubes at the lower triple clamps.

The upper triple clamps on the XBS models, and presumably the XBR models, are the same for both the 54mm and 56mm forks (for XB-S models, part number J0105.1AD or J0105.1ADA). The A suffix at the end indicates a superceding part number that is backwards compatible.

The lower triple tree is different for the 41mm vs 43mm forks, J0106.02A8A-J0106.02A8C for the 41mm models, J0106.3A8A for the 43mm forks.

The part number from the 2003 XB9R parts book is J1050.02A8. It shows up in Surdyke's website for $95.40. I think your dealer is full of crap. Call around to Surdyke and Zanottis and see if they have it.
