Howdy All,

I've got a nice leather HD jacket that my father gave me last year - an excellent jacket, i love it. A few days ago I was riding to work after it had rained in the early morning and the roads were still pretty wet.

Well, the last block before work is some roof construction and for whatever reason the road was an inch deep in wet mud. Note that I have no front fender! :laugh Basically my helmet (full face thank god), chest, and bike got WASTED in mud. Personally I think the bike looks really badass covered in mud, but thats just me.

Anythind I should know about leather? just hit it with water? thanks :tour

Use saddle soap, from the shoe section of the supermarket. Use a shoe brush to apply it and work it in, wet with water. It will lather up and clean the leather. After it's dry, use shoe polish if you want spiffy and new looking, or not if you want faded and used looking. Then finish with something like "sno-seal" or mink oil. If you do this every now and then, yes, a water-wet rag or sponge will wash off the occaisional grime.
