I kinda like the new XB12ss, because I is a bit on the larger side.
If you fit on it good, thtas all that counts.
Hand the saleds manager 5,800 cash, and tell him take it or leave it.
If he says no, then ask for you money back, give him your number and ask him to call you when he's read to sell.
Sales Managers would rather pull they own Eye teeth then give cash back, I bet he comes around.

It's inevitable that we're going to add to our fleets...it's not a matter of if...only when! That sure sounds like a good deal...divide the money into the amount of years you'll be keeping it, and it's practically free! At least my brain tells ME that! Good luck, and keep us posted! Do all dealers have that kind of mark up? I'm a terrible negotiator, but I'd be willing to pay a good negotiator to deal for me...that would make a good career for someone! Sounds like you're off to a good start with that career, Jesse! :D

How they come up $42? No matter. If it fits you and it trips your trigger then why not? I mean how much is $300 worth to you?

That is what I say, but I'm not the best negotiator. I like the idea of handing the salesperson cash. If he demands more money, maybe you could work out some freebee parts for the higher price?

Jesse, I am thinking about doing the same thing, but I'm undecided which way I will go, if I decide to buy one.
Sounds like you have a good deal; makes me want to offer less for the one I am considering. I haven't ruled out buying a new XB12ss. 2.9 financing is attractive.
I plan on asking for a discount on a race kit and a gel seat though.

This isn't some whimsical urge just to purchase a bike. Actually a Buell XB12s has been on my radar as one of a strange conglomeration of bikes I've considered adding to the stable; as evidenced by this post on April 29th (http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showpost.php?p=79536&postcount=29). I am always looking for a deal as I didn't want to buy a new XB12s because of the potential of crashing this bike. There's this vision of me pinching the bike in a tight corner and pitching the bike. I hope it doesn't happen, but if it does, I'll feel better about not tearing up a new bike.

As far as fitment, here is a picture of me checking out the bike. The red Buell behind in the picture is a 2005 XB12cg; the center of gravity Buell or the shorter Buell for $10,600. The front tire behind in the picture is a 2005 XB12Ss; the long wheelbase Buell also for $10,600. It was nice to do a side by side comparison of the different models.

Great bike, but I don't get the discount?
I am a GM for UK's largest Independant Dealer (Car's not bikes, sadly. But We are Talking to Harley just now about New Dealership In Inverness. YAHOO All those Demo bikes! But this may or may not come to pass) If he's came that far sounds like he needs to clear stock. If that's the case my best advice would be stick to your deal.
But we work on a margin of between £1,000 - £1,500, before Recon, Paint, VAT (UK TAX @ 17.5 %) and discount. We normally are left with pre tax profit of around £500.00. we could never dream of those kind of discounts, and what about the Guy who knows nothing, could he really end up paying £9,500.00!? If so that's F:censor NG criminal.
Anyway seems like a sweet deal, andy one of my mates has 1200 lightning with lots of bits, lovely bike. To put it into perspective, all in my 883 Custom cost me approx $12,000.00, and the price your getting that Buell for equates to about £3,000.00. That wouldn't buy a 5 year old Buell!
Tell you what, buy it, and I'll give you $1,000.00 profit right away, you will have to pay shipping costs though!!! :roflblack
Good luck if you get it.

No. I received an E-mail Sunday that said the bike had sold.
The bike was located at Low Country Harley Davidson in Charleston, SC; 325 miles from me. During the Fall Rally, Low Country HD had the bike at their sister dealership North Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson. That is where I checked out the bike.
I stayed in contact with the salesman whom I made the offer with. I kept pressing him for $5,750.00. He seemed to entertain the offer. My guess is, Low Country HD aggressively pushed the bike locally at a little higher margin than my offer, which I don't blame them.
I was in South Carolina on Monday October 17th and had planned to visit the dealership. They are closed on Mondays. It would be the middle of November before I could have gotten to South Carolina again. All indication lead to sewing up the deal at that time.
Yes, I realize this was an excellent deal for a bike in excellent condition. I also realize there will be other deals, better deals for a lower outlay of cash. Actually, I would be more comfortable buying a bike that had been laid down for even less money because in all likelyhood, I'll prolly push the bike beyond it's limits and find myself sliding down the road. And with that thought, I'm wondering ¿How to repair the gas tank when you wear a hole in the frame?
