anybody ever try 50 weight in old sportys and is it to thick and what would anybody suggest on tranny oil 30 weight ok

I used to run Valvoline straight 50 racing oil in my Ironhead,worked fine.

i use mobil1 15/50 in both engine and transmission.

That's what I run in mine, and in the tranny too. In the summer I run the 60 w as it's so freekin hot around here. Makes my bike happy, and it's reasonable as far as price goes.

That is what I use during the summer, and it works just fine. In the next couple of days Ill do an oil change to 40 weight for the colder temps
