I'm at a toss up of whether I should put the same in the rear or go with one of these,

I really like both and the price is about the same. $350
So I'l make it a poll.
bshadbolt 22nd October 2005, 02:26 On the dyna I like the solid rear wheel. If ya had a roadster I'd say go for the 5 spoke, But they both look great.
Cheers,
Brett
EC1250R 22nd October 2005, 02:32 We actually run those same rims on our bike. They were discontinued months ago. You actually found a 19"? Wow, we thought we scored the last 2 in HD's dealer system!
barry1967 22nd October 2005, 02:37 There is few on ebay now for the same price. 19s and 21s
Gary 22nd October 2005, 02:57 Barry,
They both look real nice. I like the solid rear better, but either will look real sharp on your bike.

rottenralph 22nd October 2005, 03:00 I like wheels that match. I had a solid springer wheel back in 95 and I never liked it. The spoked mage is much nicer to me and makes the back look better.
leo 22nd October 2005, 03:08 those were the ones i saw on ebay... that is why i asked if 05 dyna wheels would fit on the 05 sporty.

It would with a bearing and spacer change:D
The_Bishop 22nd October 2005, 03:26 Nice find!
Jeffytune 22nd October 2005, 03:39 Hi Berry.
I think that the solid on the rear would give it a "Tough Streetfighter" look.
rottenralph 22nd October 2005, 03:40 Just curious, why was the wheel discontinued?
ed_in_az 22nd October 2005, 04:16 Don't forget to post pics if you buy them.:clap
Y2K 22nd October 2005, 04:33 I guess opinions are like arseholes,everyone has one.
I'm with Ralph on this one, spokes that match.
barry1967 23rd October 2005, 00:26 Just curious, why was the wheel discontinued?
Probably poor sales. It is still available in the chrome version but not the black.
EC1250R 23rd October 2005, 00:49 Probably poor sales. It is still available in the chrome version but not the black.
Do yourself a favor, make sure you got something like Mother's Metal Polish on hand or you will regret getting those rims. They oxidize real easy on the machined surfaces.
txsporty 23rd October 2005, 01:38 I'd go with the Solid on the rear Barry!!!:D
HotRodSporty 23rd October 2005, 01:51 I have the chrome lightning star on the front of my bike with a solid rear. I think it looks fine.
I like the black rims you found, I thik the would both look good, it realy up to you on this one.
stevo 24th October 2005, 12:28 spoked...
it matches but more importantly it's lighter.....
which will improve acceleration and handling.....
as to how much well we can always debate that in another thread :D
xl1200r 24th October 2005, 12:50 I gotta go with ralph, stevo, and the others that said they should match.
Mismatched wheels would drive me crazy.
Lucifer 24th October 2005, 13:53 Since price is the same I'd say spoked. The solid black wheel does look good though.
Ride to Live!
chris horne 24th October 2005, 19:27 I have to say spoked wheel for me.
Sandman883 27th October 2005, 05:22 The new front wheel looks nice. I'd match the back up to it if it were me, but whatever you choose I think it will look nice!:)
jwbradbury 21st January 2006, 19:00 Both look freakin' GREAT...! I like both styles, so it's difficult to choose although while viewing bikes in motion, I tend to go with non-solid styles so you can see through.
Again, either style would be awesome to have.

MOREHP 21st January 2006, 19:03 I think the solid rear would go great with the spoked front.
engine 22nd January 2006, 20:30 I'd like that solid rear with my 9-spoke front coated black.
CactusJack 22nd January 2006, 21:27 Hi Barry, The solid wheel looks nice but once the brake rotor and pully are mounted you don't see much of the wheel really. Plus the solid wheel can be a bear in a crosswind like when crossing bridges. Just my 2 cents.
Streak70 6th June 2006, 17:15 I picked spoked 'cause those are what I'm running front and rear. EC1250R is right about the polishing - I'm not into detailing and mine really need polishing. I've also had trouble with a poor bead seal - I lose 1 lb/day regardless of the brand of tires or care in mounting.
