Just got a used "Sportster Seat with Adjustable Rider Backrest" (P/N 53039-01A) for a steal on eBay. Some slight wear, but I wound up getting a $500 seat for just over $150, so I'm not going to complain about a little restoration work. I can't say I've seen this seat around - anyone have any experience? I'm hoping to rack up some serious mileage before winter sets in, as the wife will be out doing her Navy thing until Thanksgiving.
Pictures will be along as soon as the UPS man stops by.

new seat arrived yesterday. A trip to the dealer for the attachment bracket, and it went on without too much trouble. Odd part is I kind of had to persuade my sissy bar detachable sideplates to fit around it. Very tight fit. Usually the MoCo is better about getting the accessories to work together (or at least, they're up front about it if it won't work). Maybe it'll work better when my touring backrest pad arrives - thank G-d for eBay. Anyhow. Took a short test drive, and so far I'm happy. Might putt off for a couple hours tomorrow for a more thorough test. Why isn't there a seat like this for the newer Sportys, I wonder? It's essentially a Sundowner with a detachable driver backrest. Pictures once I get the new backrest.
