Won't it be nice that after 2006 model year and the EPA reg, no one will need to pay (or be allowed to pay) their taxes anymore.

I think it is really neat that a non-elected body can make laws ERRR regulations that affect all of us and hundreds of businesses. Brings a new meaning to taxation without representation...

Sorry, I'm forever bitter on this subject...

Does anyone know if the Indians will build EPA compliant Enfields??

(I never thought about that before... The Indians bought Enfield, then Enfield built the last Indians...) Sorry, I'm tired...

From what I understand, you can still pay taxes. The cat will be in the muffler (which you can replace with a high flow one), you still have access to the AC and you still have access to the jets. I don't see what the issue is?

Even though there are a lot of modifications we do now that are in violation of CURRENT EPA restrictions, replacing factory exhaust pipes fitted with catalytic converters, either before or after 2006, would definitely be a violation of the EPA restrictions.

I'm not sure what you can do/change on Electronic Fuel Injected engines, since I don't own any. I do know that no carburated engines will pass the EPA restrictions, ergo there should be no factory made carburated models that wouldnt require the EPA exemption.

But that's ok. my whole post was just an "EPA sucks" rant anyway. Mostly because it does affect continued modern production of carburated engines and ownership thereof.

Just ignore the angry man behind the curtain...

Take care,

They will not be as bad as you think, Fuel Injection will make more power than a carb tuned for emissions, and not much less than a properly tuned carb. You will likely have the ability to yank the exhaust and add in a piggyback programmer like every other EFI bike.
