But I didn't want to spend the money on one. 2) make sure your tubing on the drain valve fits very snug so there is no air leak. After that, just keep pumping the brake lever til all the bubbles are out. Shouldn't take too liong once you get a tight fitting tube on the valve. Worked for me... Also do a search... this has come up a few times on the forum... cantolina 29th October 2005, 15:25 Yes, A PITA, to be sure, but not a real problem... Dot 5 is silicone based, and thusly has more problems with holding air... The tickle and tap method is usually sufficient to regain your lever, but I have actually rubber-banded the lever to the grip (after getting PARTIAL resistance) and leaving it there overnight... The biggest problem MAY be that you didn't get the fluid thru the line first... Remember also that the Master Cylinder sometimes needs to be bled, as well... Speed bleeders can be immensely helpful here too... As usual, Stevo has the skinny on this....HERE (http://www.xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=4776&highlight=bleeding) flskevin 29th October 2005, 23:34 Thanks for the tips, I ended up using an old aquarium pump and tubing and pulled the air out of the line in a few minutes and had a firm brake. |
