I have read many oil change threads but none that direct you to a how-to page that shows you how to change the oil in the crankcase and the primary. Can someone please direct me to this if it exists for the 2004+ Sporties? I'll be getting the service manual soon, but need to get the oil changed now. thanks :wonderlan

It's an easy job but the steps are too many and difficult to explain without pictures. Maybe someone has written it up already, have you done a search? You really should get the manual. You'll save enough with the oil change to pay for the manual.

::BUMP:: I posted this last year and was curious if anyone has done a write-up on it yet. I know...I need to get the service manual one of these days...

How about looking at the regular old owners manual that should have come with the bike?

I believe the Owners Manual explains it...yep just checked it :geek its on page 100, but its the same thing thats in the service manual.

Im not very mechanicaly inclined, and i managed to do it in all of 10 minutes...

Best source is Bert's video that shows both oil change and transmission oil change. Easy to follow and better than any of the texts that are out there! You absolutely can't go wrong once you view them!!!

They are found in XL Downloads under the "How-to Videos."
