I bought an '01 Blast that needs cleaning up. Any suggestions? The body isn't too bad, but the wheels are very dirty.

Thanks!

Go to the H-D dealer and get th $9.95 sample pack of 4 cleaning supplies. It has wash concentrate, bug remover, wheel cleaner, and polish/wax.

The wheel cleaner does a fine job and so does sun wash and the bug remover.

Other products may (or may not) do better but I like these. (I do like S100 detailing clean/wax spray for light touch-ups)

I got a free sample pack when i bought my bike. It all works fine but there are cheaper products that work just as good

We got an '05 Blast for my wife and it had some scratches on the colored plastic. Someone else here suggested Novus plastic polishes (our H-D dealer has them). There are three levels, depending on how bad the scratches are. We used #2 and then #1 and now all the plastic parts look like new. We like the H-D wheel cleaner as well. If that's not strong enough, Eagle One makes a wheel cleaner that's great on brake dust and general grime.

Thanks for all the responses. Didn't know about Novus, and wasn't sure if the HD wheel cleaner would work on the Buell....

Most of the cleaning products that have HD labels on them are actually the same stuff you can get at autozone for half the price.

.... cap full of kerosene in a bucket of water works for most light cleaning and let it soak on the rims for the brake dust.
2.99 for a gal can.
